Thank you for being a part of the EWABI Bamboo Bike Club. We are so appreciative of your support and commitment to clean mobility.
We’ll send you occasional updates about the Club, EWABI activities, etc. If you don’t wish to receive these just let us know and we’ll remove you from the list.
One of the benefits of being a member of the Club is that you will have access to the latest bike designs and newest technology. Despite being only two months into the program we are already in the process of upgrading four of our earliest riders this week and next. In fact, I’ll be delivering one of the bikes (our first City Cruiser) at Green School today and will be at Green Village at 12 pm for lunch if anyone would like to join me. We have added gears, a stronger head light, turn signals, mirrors and a rear reflector.
We have also received three referrals which qualify each of those members for a free month. If you can refer one new member per month you will be riding your bike for free!!
It has been an exciting few weeks. We continue to get new orders and have a backlog of 16 bikes that will be delivered this month. We also have some exciting potential partnerships in the making…
*Earth Cafe, Bali Buda and Bali Catering are all considering bikes for delivery
*Earth Cafe is interested in developing solar recharge stations and potentially rentals
*Alila Manggis is going to do a trial program
*Kembali is considering adding a bike tour at Green School and potentially rentals
*Green Village is considering offering bikes for rent to guests and potentially tours
*Bali Eco Tours is supposedly interested in our bikes. No contact yet.
*Pak Nyoman of Ubud would like to add bikes to the car rental service he offers expats
In order to keep up with the increasing demand we finalized a deal last Friday with East Bali Poverty Project (EBPP) to produce bamboo frames for EWABI. We sponsored their team to participate in our first two bamboo bike building workshops and they have subsequently established their own workshop. We are thrilled to be helping to create good paying jobs in one of the poorer parts of Bali with EBPP. This full story will be appearing in our blog in the next day or so.
Finally, we’d like to thank you all for the feedback you have provided. It is helping us to improve our bikes everyday and ask that you continue to give us any thoughts you have on how to make the bikes better, safer and more fun to ride.
Peace & Love,
Mark & the EWABI team
